Musicianship classes are designed to give students a better understanding of music theory, music history, ear training, sight reading, performance etiquette and performance skills.  Every student is required to attend each of the group and performance classes.

Students are REQUIRED to attend and stay for the entire class time. WEAR A FACE MASK TO ALL IN-PERSON PERFORMANCE/MUSICIANSHIP CLASSES. Please plan accordingly to attend and not leave early.

Please reserve and mark the dates of the performance classes on your home calendar.  Let the teacher know ASAP if you have conflicts with any of the performance dates during this school year. There is no make-up or credit for any missed group/performance classes.

Three class sessions will be held on each of the performance class dates.  

  • 1st class: 8:00 am to 9:00 am

  • 2nd class: 9:00 am to 10:00 am

  • 3rd class: 10:00 am to 11:00 am

Students, remember to bring your lesson assignment book, student binder and music for performance to each musicianship class (for in-person class)

FALL SEMESTER 2024

Saturday, September 28, 2024

  • Performance Classes (mandatory for all students):

  • 8:00 AM | 9:00 AM | 10:00 AM

  • Students will present a short bio of the composer of their piece. All students will perform. Concerto students must have your concerto movement completely memorized for this performance class. For duet students, you can use music.

  • All concerto students will perform their concerto movement memorized at this performance class. Attendance is required in order to participate in Federation Concerto Festival in November. The concerto movement should be performance ready with all musical details.

    • 3:00 PM | 4:00 PM | 5:00 PM

    • All students will perform.

    • All concerto students will perform their concerto movement with the second piano at this performance class and at the Fall Recital (November 2) in order to participate in Federation Concerto Festival in November.
